What is the Interior Plains: Parts of Alberta, Yukon, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories make up the Interior Plains region.

The North West Mounted Police: The North West Mounted Police was a big part of the Interior Plains history. American whiskey traders were coming into to Canada and NWMP brought law and order stopping them coming into our country. They also went up north and helped Dawson City, there was gambling, stealing, KILLING. Patrolling the border was another thing the North West Mounted Police did for Canada. There was a long travel west for the NWMP, it was called the "March West". They made their way west to stop the whiskey traders. The NWMP brought people to Canada so it is and feels safe. The relationships between the First Nations peoples was strong.
Climate: In this region the climate is different from the other regions because of where it's located and the landforms in it.
The Interior Plains has cold winter and hot summers.The winter includes snow and even severe weather, like blizzards and ice
storms. In winter if it's a nicer day it will be around 0 oC. A drought can also be a type of weather here. The other severe weathers are: tornadoes, dust storms, and most recent that really affected High River, floods.

Resources: There is fertile land in the Interior Plains which helps us farm and grow corn, grain, barley canola and hay. Another resource is a substance used in fertilizer also know as potash. You can find oil and natural gas here. Gypsum is a white mineral found in this resourceful land. Speaking about white, salt is another type of the re sourceful things we have.There are tar sands and coal in the Interior Plains. Certainly, this region has rivers and forestry.
Landforms: From the Rolling Hills to the Flat lands these make the Interior Plains distinct. Rocks,sand and gravel are in the Interior Plains region. There are more, like the Rocky Mountains, Glaciers, Silt and fertile soil. More land forms include lakes, rivers , farmland and the foothills are the many landforms of the Interior Plains.
